Shawn was the newest member of the Deacons, and brought with him an incredible amount of talent. After attending Penns Valley High School and earning a Bachelors degree in trumpet performance from Mansfield University, he gained experience for several years by playing the Carnival Cruise Lines and numerous amusement parks - including Dorney Park. He also played in Jazz Innate, The Valley Jazz Orchestra, and B.D. Bop in addition to substituting in the Bellefonte Community Band and the KSOS. Not content to stick solely to trumpet, he also played Euphonium and French Horn, and was teaching himself piano, bass, and drums. Shawn resided in Bellefonte and - always involved in music - worked at Robert M. Sides in State College, PA. In addition to that he gave private lessons and was on staff with both the Bald Eagle and Penns Valley High School Bands. Shawn joined the heavenly Deacons of Dixieland on Sunday, December 18th, 2005.
