| Mike Loewen formally joined the Deacons in 2008
after subbing with the group for many years. He is a State College
native and very active on the local musical scene. Mike has a BS in
Music Education from Penn State, but has a "day job" working for
Penn State's Information Technology Services division as a computer
programmer. He has played with practically every musical
organization in central PA at one time or another, and regularly
performs with the Zeropoint Big Band, Slide Zone, the State College
Area Municipal Band, and Below Centre. He also doubles on tuba,
euphonium, and trumpet, on the theory that flexibility leads to more
gigs. :-) |
